         All of our feelings and desires are the result of various physiological, electrochemical and biochemical processes in our body with hormones playing a key part. While the role of hormones in our body is very diverse, a few of them play a particularly important role with respect to our emotions and desires.

        Serotonin is an important hormone in regulating mood. Serotonin  is a neurotransmitter that transmits impulses between nerve cells of the brain and has a significant role in the body.

Because of this, people who have low levels of serotonin will show a strong reaction to even minor stress or negative events.  Some research has shown that the position of a person in a social hierarchy is related to their serotonin levels.

Ways to  increase the level of serotonin in your body:
- Ensure that your body gets an adequate supply of the amino acid tryptophan which is necessary for the synthesis of serotonin. Tryptophan can be found in chocolate, bananas, dates, nuts, and turkey.
-  Eat carbohydrate foods that contain glucose which helps to stimulate the discharge of insulin into the blood and in turn leads to an increase of tryptophan levels.
-Make sure you get natural sunlight which has been shown to increase serotonin levels. The fact that most of us spend our time indoors working means that we often miss out on a very easy and healthy method to boost our serotonin levels.


dopamine        Dopamine very often is also called as a hormone of pleasure. Dopamine forms dependence from pleasure. All common for us rituals which are related with getting of pleasure is a result of production of dopamine. Unfortunately in this relation it can create weakness for alcohol and drugs if person is predisposed to them.

        Dopamine helps quickly adapt to the new environment. It controls our ability to learn and maintains strive to the new achievements, helps to achieve goal and build confidence in your own.

        Endorphines. The effect of this group of hormones is similar to serotonin. However it is much stronger. Moreover, in case of this hormone person gets something similar to drug dependence. Body which is used to get certain dose of endorphin feels itself very uncomfortable without it. By the way, chemical formula of endorphin is similar to the formula of morphine what explains effect. But nevertheless endorphins have positive impact on us.

endorphine        The production  of endorphins increases in response to stress as a defensive reaction which goal is to ensure physiological elimination of stress (i.e. without breakdown of adaptation and without appearance of post-stress abnormalities and diseases.

        The increase of level of endorphins is accompanied with improvement of psychophysiological condition, mood improvement, decrease of fatigue, increase of resistibility to the inner and outer stress-factors.
